I had a quick go tonight no matter what I do set up wise I correct one thing and create another issue all which gains a little at some points but looses out at others ends up with pretty much the same lap time.

I have the feeling / hope this is going to be real good fun no matter what place you are in.

Sorry I haven't been around much guys, been so busy with work!

I don't think I will make this race either, as I have a load to do before I jet off to Majorca with the wife and kids.

So the next time I race with you guys may be on PC2!!  I'm really hoping the online side of things will be as good as they are hyping it up to be, if so, we will be in for a treat!  Can't wait to arrive home and find PC2 on my doormat!

See you all soon, safe racing!

Have a nice holiday, I'll miss our fights since we're often at a similar pace. I'm also looking forward to the game. Got the digital pre-order, so I'm waiting until I can push that download button and get going.

In today's practice race I drove a 47.49, my personal best. I set that after 15 laps or so in the race so my tires were a bit worn and fuel was at about 16L I guess. And the annoying thing is I could have gone 0.3 faster, I was up by that much a number of times, but whatever I tried I lost those tenths every time coming out of turn 3 (Graham Hill bend). So I must have taken that corner really fast on my best lap, but I don't know what I exactly did to take that corner that fast.

Just 9 more days!

I hope then enable pre-downloads a couple of days before release to save straining the servers. They normally do that with call of duty, download it 4-5 days before release but its locked until release day.

How did the mock race go?

as far as I can see the countdown counter in my library says it will become available at midnight CEST. But I don't know if the release is actually on midnight or that you can pre-download for a release later that day. I also would have rather seen that I could download it a few days ahead of time and just wait for activation since the PSN servers are always so slow. Even with a perfectly stable 300mbit connection it can take much longer than necessary (when I'm in a hurry I constantly reset the connection since that also seems to reset the download speed for a while and when it starts to slow down again, repeat... But this game is no call of duty which will easily outsell this game 5 to 1 at least, so perhaps we don't need that extra time.

The race yesterday showed that most of this race will be decided by mistakes. You have to push really hard to get a few second gap and those seconds are gone in a blink of an eye if you go too fast into turn 1 or hit the kerbstones a bit wrong going into the last twisty bit (surtees).

Well done joe. I got the FFB bug a few laps after where I tried to pass you. Annoying as hell. It took 1.5s out of my pace. It ruined what was set to be a really close 50 lap battle for the lead. I got sick of it and pitted which actually sorted it out.

Wrists are killing me right now!

This game has it in for me I have the pace to win. The Gulf races at Zhuhai (reverse gear on the line - I thought I knocked it in reverse but I've since noticed every race now it has me either in 4th gear or reverse on the line, not neutral. But I'm ready for it with my foot on the brake until I can check it), Hockenheim (but I deliberately started at the back), Laguna Seca (corned cut penalty screwed me and half the field), Brno (never started bug), Silverstone (stuck in the pits bug) and now this FFB bug.

Wonder why I bother sometimes! Roll on PCARS2... but why they should have my money, I dunno!

I had an okay race. I qualified in 5th, could have been a little better, but I had a good start immediately taking 2 places and tried to follow Matt and Giorjoe with Jac and The Bag not far behind. At some point Matt made a mistake in the 1st corner, allowing me to go side by side into Druids with me on the inside, but Matt stayed next to me which meant I couldn't take the racing line into Graham Hill so I had to lift a bit, but I was surprised that Jac and the Bag were still so close behind me that they both could overtake me because of that action. After that I followed them around for a bit, but they were racing so close I decided to drop behind just a little bit, which proved very valuable a lap later when they both went off in surtees, handing me 3rd place with a decent gap to number 4 and Matt and Giorjoe were still in sight, but faster so I could only hope for a mistake. Whether it was contact that screwed up the Matt's race or it was a FFB bug, but I suddenly found myself in 2nd. And with no fighting going on at the front I didn't have a chance to get 1st, so I just settled for steady lap times, no risks and managed a P2. Had 1 or 2 scares with back markers having a moment in front of me, but no real problems there.

Congrats to Giorjoe on another win and the championship and to The Bag for getting a podium finish  :sign0098:

Well done Jo and Dennis  :13:

Rather surprised at how bad my pace was tbh in Q and the race, I was consistently in 27's in practice.

Good racing at the start of the race good fun with Jac  :13: I expected it to be a lot more like this all race tbh.

Good fun though

FFS i had a decent car for this race and i just fucked it up. I didnt realise how hard it was overtake in these cars or overtake on this track!
I got dicked by Dennis and Jac at the start and had Bag almost pushing me out the last corner. Then i had a massive slide in the first corner putting me in last :embarrassed: I kept finding myself yo-yoing up and down the field but never getting passed Lmntr. I had no idea where to try an overtake as i had only done car setup work. It was fun although me and Lmntr touched twice. Very sorry i did wait for you to take your place back both times. That last corner is bitch i lost it a few times there.

That's all I do tbh I haven't got the time to do test races etc. Tbh I made a gearing change in warm up that I thought might make a difference but it slowed me down a tad I think.

Learn from mistakes implement into the next race 👍

Dennis drift king 👑 has really got to grips to this game now. His increasing pace combined with thoughtful driving is doing him the world of good  :sign0098:

It sounds like PC2 have aimed to assist controller users. Welcome to PC2

Congratulations to giorjoe on his winnnnnnnnnn!    :cheer:  Another excellent result out of Dnns84 finishing in 2nd Place and...of course wonderful results to The_Bag_ on his 3rd Place finish.

I got lucky to qualify in 6th Place managing to break into the 47s.   I was able to do47s sporadically while usually getting into the lower 48s.
My start went okay and I managed to keep out of trouble by tuning out my fear but not ignoring those around me.  My low budget team has not been able to afford any assists so I had to concentrate in the fast "s" turn before the last turn.  After a few laps, the theater settled with who would be my competitors during the race, namely jod08 and JAC-1234. I watched intently for both though I also had an eye for The_Bag who was slowwwly getting away but still within striking distance should he had a "moment".
Now, I knew that in this track one could easily over-do it and loose tons of time and because my team had rented the track for private practice I knew just how much to push within my skills; in fact, I only lost about 4 seconds during the whole race due to my slight off caused by experimenting slightly during the race with a different gear plan which it is usually not a good idea.  The biggest chunk of time loss was about 15 seconds caused by jod08 sliding into me on the last turn but I understand it was never intentional as he bounced off once off the curbs and slid minutely in udersteer on the second which did not help I had the middle of the road.  jod08 did the honorable by waiting for me in both instances so how can I be upset with him! :icon_cool:  At the end I was very please I had finished in 5th Place.  My team principle wants to keep me as I am bringing in sponsors like "just for man", "Centrum for Man 50+", Geritol and LifeAlert.  I draw the line with Viagra as they have been after our Team but I will not sign because for one thing, I do not need it; the secret is keeping your blood pressure as in your teen years by exercising regularly and eating a vegan diet.
