My new idear.
« on: March 24, 2017, 05:56:AM »
Unfortunately I'll can't join next races cause of timezone changing to summertime. (27.03 I think )

Main problem is that our little girl (9 months  old) is going to bed at this time. Actually I turn on my ps4 at 9 pm German time. And can  sit down  at ~ 9:20 pm

In summer time.  At this time. There  will be the race start. :banghead:

Last race I have hosted. No one complains about lag or anything.
( I have ping of 10-13 during games like rocket league)

So I can host the race.
May this will solve dnns sync problems.

And I can do a better video.
May I can show position monitor In a cycle of 2 mins or something.

And follow / watching some close fights.

May also can announce some overtakes for peauple  getting laped.

(Specially for situations leaders have to lap 2 cars.
Second lapped car was often the loser of this situation cause he will be overtaking by both cars.

What are you think about this mates ?

Oh I forgot to think about German time changing.

I need to wait and see how little girl  was arranged with time.

In worst case I can only host :/

I used to race with VRRoom.org and this is exactly what they did. There were 15 racers and a the 16th would start the race from the back of the grid and retire to the pits as soon as the lights went green. This person then could act as a steward and also record the fights between drivers.

If it keeps you participating, I am all for it. Maybe you can race some nights too.

You would be free to send invites without compromising your race and you have a superb connection speed too.
What does everyone else think?

I don't really care who hosts, as long as they open the lobby in time and with the right settings.
I tested my connection right before and after the race (I always do that before the race) and it was perfect. In the lobby screen however half the drivers have a red connection due to distance or bad Internet (mostly distance), most drivers geographically close had perfect connections.
Just as soon as you race with people from the other side of the Atlantic, latency will be an issue especially since we race at such high speeds, 0.1sec of lag can be the difference between crash or no crash. That's just something we have to live with since our league isn't large enough we can race in geographical divisions.
The downforce is strong with this one

Samsimala, I like your idea of providing a close competition video and perhaps even doing commentary.  I have never experience commentary during a live race so I am not sure if it would be distracting.   But, like you said, you still have to confirm your daughter's sleep schedule and perhaps you can still race!   :icon_wink:   As far as internet lag, it could very well be as Dnns84 stated that it is caused by a combination of member Internet speeds and distance.  We can certainly do a test next race.   :eusa_think:

Most problem is the sound of the wheel.
It's very loud.  :035:

If she already  sleeping for an hour she doesn't take care of it.

I ask other parents if there was able to handle bringing baby's 1 hour earlier to bed.  But there telling me there wasn't able to change the sleep rythm cause of time zone changing.

All baby's love his parents voice.
And there don't care what they talking. Chinese,English or German. They never mind.

So worst  case: she is up:
I can only host

The case I expect : she was gone to bed when race starts:
I can host  and do commentary. May also do the opening lap  :siren:  by unsing pad.

And best case: (I hope so) :eusa_pray:
We can manage to put her earlyer  to bed.
(This can take 2-3 weeks  :icon_sad: )
And I can join the race  :flag:  :steeringwheel:

In all cases I'm still part of the league  :icon_wink:

Let's see what happen.

I'm glad to hear that you are staying with us.

When my kids were small, there is no way I could have changed their bed time to an earlier time without some kind of riot breaking out.

Also if your daughter does go to bed an hour earlier, does that mean she will be awake an hour earlier in the morning too?

Yes if she fell to sleep 1h earlyer  she will wake up 1 hour earlyer :)

But Germany have also time change at the same date like UK.

Next morning 2am to 3 am.

This is why bed time syncing  with race start  :banghead:

At 01.08.2017 she will go to "kindergarten" a German word
At least. She will grow and this will be self solved

Hopefully this league will exist for a long time ! :13:
Than I can do races later.

In every case. I'll train on the track.
At least. If I do life comments. I know tricky parts of the track.
And stay ready to join the race as a driver
